Asia Cup to be shifted from Pakistan to UAE: Reports
Ind vs Pak (Source: Twitter)
With all the rumours floating in the media regarding the India-Pakistan faceoff venue during the Asia Cup later this year, another massive news has just come up.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) represented by Jay Shah and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chaired by Najam Sethi were in talks today in Bahrain, concerned with the hosting venue and stand of the BCCI on that matter.
With the meeting finally over, no details were being transmitted officially by anyone. However, one of the sources who is a senior BCCI official disclosed that the Asia Cup by no chance will be played in Pakistan considering that it is likely to be played in the UAE.
Moreover, the final decision will be taken in March when the boards and the council again sit to finalise the details for the event.
"The ACC affiliates met today and there were a lot of constructive discussions. But the shift of venue has been postponed till March. But be rest assured that with India not going to Pakistan, the tournament will have to be shifted. A tournament without Virat Kohlis, Rohit Sharmas and Shubman Gills will have the sponsors back out."
Furthermore, another insider informed that the decision was postponed because Sethi's image would have taken a hit had the event been shifted straightway, as this is his first meeting since being appointed as the PCB chairman.
