It was the Perth Scorchers show in the finals of the Big Bash League as skipper Ashton Turner held the innings together when they were three down for 54. Turner came in at a crunch time and led them to their fifth BBL title as they defeated Brisbane Heat in a close encounter by five wickets.

The right-hander played a decent knock of 53 from just 32 balls thumping two maximums and five boundaries along the way, always keeping his side in the chase.

After the game, the Australian was asked about his knock and how is he feeling as they are champions once again. To which, he replied that the atmosphere is surreal and he is still amazed by how much fan support they have received in this game.

Further, he mentioned that he wasn't quite sure before the match as things tend to change a lot. However, he claimed that his side is a great team as time and time again they have proved their worth.

"Look, it is a surreal feeling. I played a lot of games of cricket, but still, you don't know how it will pan out. Thanks a lot to the supporters; they have painted the city orange, and it has been an amazing feeling. Really exciting round of cricket, great teams win big games and fortunate to have done that today."

Scorchers' victory came after multiple setbacks as several high-profile players were missing in Faf du Plessis, Jhye Richardson and Mitchell Marsh.
