The India-Pakistan rivalry has been one of the standouts from cricketing history featuring some of the biggest superstars from both nations engaging in the war of words which gets revealed at later stage.

Now, former Pakistan pacer Sohail Khan has made starling revelation regarding Virat Kohli which also included the then Indian skipper MS Dhoni. The fast bowler mentioned the incident from the 2015 World Cup that was happening in Australia.

Khan disclosed that Kohli sledged him during the game after which he replied in a fierecest manner as the matter aggravated between both and skippers of both sides had to intervene.

"Virat came. He said to me, 'You've just arrived and you speak so much.' I was a Test cricketer back then. I had played Test matches in 2006-07. Then in between I endured a troubled knee which forced me out of action.

"I said 'Son, when you were playing Under-19 for India, your father [referring to himself] was a Test player). That's how I said it. Then if you see carefully, Misbah intervened and he got angry at me. He asked me to keep quiet,"

Later, after the words were exchanged, Dhoni came and asked Kohli not to indulge in any of those as the pacer is an old customer.

"Back down. He has been around for a long time. You don't know him. Kohli then went and stood in one corner,"

However, the 38-year-old cleared the air and remarked that he now respects him very much now due to his heroics on the cricketing field.

"I respect him today because he is a great batter, amazing."

India and Pakistan are scheduled to clash again in the Asia Cup later this year before they meet in the World Cup during October-November.
