Indian Test cricketer Washington Sundar, gritty leg-spinner Rahul Chahar, and emerging talents - Tamil Nadu's Sai Kishore and Saurabh Kumar have been added to the Indian Test squad as net bowlers for the Test series against Australia by the national selectors.

As per a report published by Cricbuzz, the Indian team management hasn't asked for any seam bowler for the nets but has asked for some local spinners to bowl against the batters.

The Rohit Sharma-led unit has selected Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel in their spinning arsenal for the Border Gavaskar Trophy, starting with the Nagpur Test from February 9.

The decision by the BCCI and the national selectors can be looked at as a masterstroke, as all these four bowlers cover the basis that Australia have brought for this Indian tour.

Meanwhile, Australians have also been using local net bowlers for their preparations. They have been putting in hard yards with the Baroda-based Mahesh Pithiya, who bowls identically to Ashwin. Whereas Jadeja and Patel have been looked at as the biggest threats for them.

As per as both teams are concerned, India have started their training in Nagpur with their first training session on Friday. At the same time, the visitors are having a camp in Benguluru's Alur.

Some reports are rotating in the media about India's Shreyas Iyer being ruled out from the first Test match. With the number 5 batter out, India would have a tussle between Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill.
