WPL's tentative schedule out as Mumbai takes on Ahmedabad in season opener

Already the biggest women's cricketing league in the world, the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) Women's Premier League (WPL) is grabbing the limelight for all the right reasons.

Scheduled to begin on March 4th, the first match is likely to be between Mukesh Ambani's Mumbai franchise and Gautam Adani's Gujarat Giants as two of the biggest corporate entities brace up for a newer challenge this time on a cricket field.

As expected the venue will be DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai for the opening night, whereas Cricket Club of India (CCI) Stadium has been handed over for the responsibilty of hosting  second match between Bangalore and Delhi which will be an afternoon encounter.

After which Giants will again return to face to Lucknow side at DY Patil Stadium on the second day's night. 

Moreover, only the first three sides will make it through to the playoffs as the first side will be directly playing the finals while the second and third positioned side will be battling it out in the eliminator on 24th March at the CCI.

The final is slated to be held on 26th at DY Patil Stadium, following which the Men's IPL will be seeing the daylight on either 31st March or 1st of next month.

Furthermore, the board has invited all the five franchise owners to complete the agreements that will see the sides getting finalised before auction could take place on 13th February in Mumbai.
