BCB hand contract extension to Allan Donald till World Cup 2023

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have handed bowling coach Allan Donald a contract extension until the ICC World Cup 2023 in India. The former South African pacer joined the Bangladesh national side back in 2022 and was initially signed till the T20 World Cup Down Under.

Upon players' feedback, Donald had his contract extended until the end of the home series against India. Talking to Cricbuzz, Jalal Yunus, BCB's cricket operation chairman confirmed the same. 

Known as 'White Lighting', the 56-year-old is currently awaiting work permit clearance to travel to Bangladesh for their upcoming white-ball series against England starting next month. 


Here's what Yunus confirmed

"(Allan) Donald's contract is extended till the World Cup."

Earlier, the BCB re-appointed Chandika Hathurusingha as their head coach. Hathurusingha will team up with the Bangladesh side by February 20 for a preparatory camp, ahead of their limited-overs series against World champions England. 

Both sides will play three ODIs and as many T20Is beginning March 1. The matches will take place across two venues - Dhaka and Chattogram.
