Tryon single-handedly wins it for South Africa
South Africa plundered India by five wickets and won the final match of the Women's T20I Tri-Series 2023
Mlaba tames India
Nonkululeko Mlaba enjoyed her time with the ball as the left-arm spinner got rid of the Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues, handing South Africa an early edge in the match.
While India's run-rate never touched the sky, the team slowly moved towards recovery, riding on the 48-run stand between Harleen Deol and Harmanpreet Kaur.
As the innings demanded acceleration, Harmanpreet was sent packing by Sune Luus, taking India back to square one.
Deol's 56-ball 46 and Deepti Sharma's vital 16-run cameo led India to 109/4 in their 20 overs.
Tryon single-handedly wins it
Although the run-chase was full of ebbs and flows for South Africa as they lost wickets in clusters regularly, Chloe Tryon's half-century allowed the Proteas to end on the better side of the result.
Indian bowlers put a firm grip on South Africa, making them work hard for every run. But Tryon proved to be the difference as after an initial struggle, she took off brilliantly, playing a stonking 57-run innings.
With South Africa at 66/5 in the 14th over, it could have been anybody's game. However, in no time Tryon ran a blitz, crossing the line for her side with five wickets and two overs to spare.
