WPL auction likely to take place in Mumbai on February 13

In a major development, the Women's Premier League (WPL) auction is likely to take place in Mumbai on February 13. As per a report in Cricbuzz, Mumbai's Jio World Convention Centre is slated to be the venue for the event.
BCCI had several factors to decide before choosing the date and venue. One prominent reason was the non availability of the venues due to the ongoing wedding season.
The Jio World Centre has the state of the art facilities and can hold many events simultaneously. As per a confirmation by a BCCI official, the board members are interested in holding the event at the Jio Centre.
The dates of the auction have been decided after consulting the franchises. There are a few WPL franchises, that also have a team in the ILT20, and the franchises wanted the auction to take place after the finale of the ILT20 event (Feb 12).
The announcement of WPL has created a buzz in the cricketing fraternity. Players from across the globe have registered their names for the auction. It'll be interesting to see which players the franchises target in the auction.
