Cricket West Indies has announced a strong 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa.

The squad, captained by the experienced Hayley Matthews, also sees the inclusion of former skipper Stafanie Taylor. But her participation in the showpiece event is subject to fitness.

Taylor, who played her last T20I in 2021, has been troubled by a back injury. As per CWI, she, in consultation with a specialist in Johannesburg, will be travelling to Cape Town to commence further treatment in a bid to return to the field.

Meanwhile, Shakera Selman, Chinelle Henry, and Chedean Nation make their return from their respective injuries.

Three players from the recently concluded ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2023- Djenaba Joseph, Zaida James, and Trishan Holder- have earned national call-ups as well.
