South African batter Theunis de Bruyn is playing for Pretoria Capitals in the inaugural edition of the SA20 league. The batter has spoken about the league and the investment of Indian investors in it. He stated that the rainbow nation has finally fulfilled its desire for an international-level T20 league with the advent of the SA20.

The right-handed batter who was recently a part of the South African Test team feels that the involvement of team owners from IPL is a big thing as they know how to make the brand a success.

During a media interaction, De Bruyn referred to the crowds in the ongoing season of the SA20. The cricketer said that the South African public values a certain standard and quality, which is why full house turnouts even on weekdays in the tournament. De Bruyn also opined that this would go a long way in making the tournament sustainable in the long run.

Quoting De Bruyn from the interaction with Sportskeeda-

"Yes, for sure. The question is going to be, is it sustainable? So obviously, the partners that are involved, the six owners being IPL teams; obviously they've got a clear idea of how to make this brand successful, and they are massively invested in this league, and I'm sure that they want to make this thing succeed. We know that the South African public is a sport-loving nation, but in saying that, they also can get frustrated quickly and stop supporting. So the brand is going to have to stay strong, and the quality of cricket, that's the most important thing."

He further stated-

"If you're in Cape Town and you've got an office job, you walk 5 o'clock to the Newlands Cricket Ground, and you see world-class players playing against each other, and then some of the local guys matching it, which is great. It's something that the South African people cherish - a certain standard, not just on sports fields."

De Bruyne concluded the statement by expressing his desire for the tournament to continue for a long time and become a success in the years to come-

"I hope that this thing is a massive success, and I'm sure, like I said, the people involved have got so much wisdom surrounding these leagues. Hopefully, this thing continues for many years to come."
