Experienced Indian batter Hanuma Vihari has won a million hearts through his sheer courage and determination.

During Andhra Pradesh's ongoing quarter-final encounter in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23, Vihari fractured his wrist after being hit by an Avesh Khan delivery. As a result, he went back to the pavilion midway in the innings.

However, despite battling with severe pain, the batter returned after Andhra Pradesh lost their ninth wicket, earning the praise of fans as well as experts.

He even batted left-handed to protect his fractured left wrist. If he wished, he could've retired hurt, not participating further in the game.

But instead, he decided to step into the ground for the sake of his team. So, his attitude to lead from the front earned him accolades from all corners of the world.

The incident reminded cricket fans of former Proteas captain Graeme Smith, who once stepped in to face fiery Australian bowlers despite struggling with a broken arm.

Regarding the game, after being put into bat first, Andhra Pradesh suffered early setbacks, losing CR Ganeshwar, Abhishek Reddy inside 16 overs.

However, Ricky Bhui and Karan Shinde stitched a mammoth 265-run stand to ensure a solid first innings total for the visitors.

As of writing, Andhra Pradesh are 379 for nine, with Vihari and Lalith Mohan unbeaten on 27 and 22, respectively.
