Former Australian spinner Steve O'Keefe, who handed his side a rare Test win over India on their last tour in 2017, has backed the current side to do better this time.

Under Pat Cummins, Australia's Test side has been dominant and tasted much success last year, including a series win in Pakistan.

As per The Age, the 38-year-old said that he is quite bullish about this current team, which could make India pay for any complacency.

Here's what O'Keefe said

"I am so bullish about this team. A lot of those guys who are part of that (2017) experience would have learned so much from that. At times we got close, and the next time becomes a little bit easier. I believe that is going to be the case this time. We’re going over with a strong batting group who play spin really well. Marnus hasn’t played over there but is a good player of spin, we’ve seen that already. Cameron Green is elite, so I feel this group is strong."

The 38-year-old further revealed that during his tour, he felt burnt out by the time the fourth Test was played and the Indian batters knew how to mentally break down a bowler in the middle.

The first of the four Tests is scheduled to be played in Nagpur from February 9.
