Tim David and Henry Brookes have been signed in by MI Cape Town for the remainder of the ongoing SA20 2023 season. The two cricketers replaced Liam Livingstone, who is currently injured, and Olly Stone respectively.

Singapore-born Australian cricketer Tim David has joined the MI Cape Town unit as a replacement for star batter Liam Livingstone. So far, the hard-hitting Englishman has missed the entire SA20 2023 season due to an injury.

David already represented the Mumbai Indians in IPL last year, thus joining the franchise’ sister-team MI Cape Town. The burly Australian has already banked a legion of T20 experience through freelancing in the franchise circuit.

He has played 152 matches across PSL, IPL, The Hundred, CPL and Australia’s very own Big Bash League. The 26-year-old also made his Australian debut last year, after setting up his international journey through Singapore back in 2019.

Henry Brookes, on the other hand, replaced fellow English pacer Olly Stone. The latter is currently in South Africa as part of England’s ODI series. He already turned up thrice for the MI Cape Town in their first seven matches, having picked up six wickets including a fighting four-fer against the Durban’s Super Giants.

Brookes last played for the Chennai Braves in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. He is likely to make his MI Cape Town debut at some stage in the tournament, considering the absence of Stone.

The Rashid Khan-led side is currently placed at number five on the SA20 2023 points table, having secured just three wins out of seven matches.
