On Sunday, India restored parity in the T20I series, defeating New Zealand by six wickets in the second match in Lucknow.

However, chasing a mere 100-run target, the Indian batters took the game to the last over, which unimpressed fans and experts.

After India avoided the Kiwi scare, former opener Gautam Gambhir slammed the batters for their inability to score briskly against quality spin bowling.

Speaking to the broadcasters Star Sports, the stylish left-hander urged the Indian batters to work on their strike rotating, as hitting nonchalant sixes is a daunting task on spinning decks.

The Delhi-born also took a dig at Ishan Kishan, who has been nothing short of abysmal in T20Is recently.

Here's what Gambhir stated

"Indian team as a batting unit has struggled against spin. It's easy to hit big sixes but the ability to rotate the strike is missing. There was enough purchase for spinners as well. It was pretty much evident when you got Michael Bracewell against Ishan Kishan,

"I think these young players need to learn quickly how to rotate strike. Because on a wicket like this, it's not gonna be easy to go down the ground and hit those big sixes. It's a surprise because of the way he (Ishan) batted in Bangladesh after scoring that double-hundred. He has struggled after that, everyone thought his graph will start growing up with the kind of innings he has played."

With the series on the line, both sides will square off in the decider in Ahmedabad on February 1.
