After missing a few initial matches due to his commitments in Australia, the maestro all-rounder Marcus Stoinis will be playing the rest of the matches for Sharjah Warriors in UAE's International League T20.

With Melbourne Stars failing to qualify for Big Bash's Final, Stoinis has reached UAE to join the Warriors. On his arrival to the UAE, the all-rounder attended a virtual press conference, where he answered all the questions to OneCricket, in his usual frank way.

The 33-year-old all-rounder has been part of almost every team all across the globe, participating in half of dozen franchise leagues. Mentioning the Stars' failure in BBL|12, Stoinis talked about the challenge that he might face in the Emirates but said he's up for it.

"Great to be here. Disappointed with how the season went with the Stars, but we'll bounce back. Excited to play in ILT20. Looking forward to the challenge," said Stoinis in a virtual presser.

The Perth-born has played quite a bit of cricket in UAE, playing IPL 2020-21 for Delhi Capitals and the T20 World Cup of 2021 - which Australia went on win. However, conditions in the sub-continent are always challenging for players from SENA countries.

Stoinis, meanwhile, mentioned that he is ready to make the adjustment to his batting.

"When asked about what adjustments as a batter you have to make, considering the less bouncy pitch as compared to Australia - yeah, definitely looking to make some adjustments... pitches are different so I have to select my shots very carefully. Different conditions, different challenges as a batter," the Australian cricketer mentioned.

Sharjah's subsequent encounter is against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday, January 28.

Stoinis will be strengthening the side, which thus far has had a topsy-turvy of a tournament with two wins and three losses out of six games they have played.
