Derbyshire County Cricket Club have announced the signing of Pakistan's Haider Ali for the upcoming 2023 County season. Ali, 22, is known for his explosive batting and has represented Pakistan in 2 ODIs and 33 T20Is.

Ali will be available to play in all formats for Derbyshire, which includes competitions like the County Championship, Royal London Cup, and T20 Blast, subject to international commitments.

He is the second overseas cricketer for the club for the next season season, with Sri Lanka's Suranga Lakmal being the first.

Ali, in a club statement, expressed his desire to do well for his new club across formats.

Here's what Ali said

"I want to help Derbyshire win games in all formats, there’s a lot of good players here and Mickey wants to achieve something big with this Club. Hopefully I can contribute a lot of runs in 2023 and entertain the Derbyshire crowd.”

Mickey Arthur, Director of Cricket, called Ali a welcome addition to the squad for the upcoming season.

“Haider is an immensely talented young player who already has a wealth of international experience, which will be key for us in all formats."

Ali will play for Karachi Kings in the upcoming edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023.
