The thought of potentially playing in an Ashes at home gives me goosebumps: Ben Duckett

Ben Duckett made a successful return to Test cricket, amassing 357 runs for England during his side's 3-0 series clean sweep in Pakistan last month against the hosts.

Duckett, who made his Test debut in 2016, has expressed his dream of playing in the upcoming 'The Ashes' 2023, which will take place on English shores.

The left-handed batter was dropped following a poor tour of India in his debut season and only earned a national call-up after Alex Lee's poor outing last year.

According to Cricket.com, the 28-year-old praised the positive atmosphere created in the dressing room by coach Brendon McCullum and skipper Ben Stokes, which has eased a lot of pressure within the team.

Here's what Duckett said

“That’s what I’ll be dreaming about. The thought of potentially playing in an Ashes at home gives me goosebumps really, it’s something that I never thought I’d be a part of,"

“It’s incomparable, really. The atmosphere that's created within the dressing room is something that, to be honest, I just never thought you could have in an England Test dressing room.

Over the years in Test cricket, there’s been far too much pressure and it’s probably taken out a lot of the enjoyment. This dressing room led by Stokesy and McCullum, we just had so much fun.”

Duckett's immediate assignment will be the two-match Test series in New Zealand commencing on February 16.
