SA20 2023: Kevin Pietersen my role model, reveals Paarl Royals' Evan Jones

All-rounder Evan Jones has been impressive for the Paarl Royals' franchise in the ongoing edition of the SA20 League 2023. Jones, so far in the competition, has picked up 12 wickets from seven matches and is the club's second-highest wicket-taker.
Jones plays for the Lions in South Africa's domestic circuit. Overall, he has featured in 10 First-Class, 18 List A, and 21 T20 matches.
Speaking to CricketNext, Jones spoke about his cricketing role model, who happens to be South Africa-born former England batter Kevin Pietersen.
Here's what Jones said
"Kevin Pietersen is my role model. I have always watched him do his things. Love watching him bat and love his aura. The confidence that he has in everything he does is just brilliant,"
The 26-year-old further added that former South African all-rounder JP Duminy, who is also the Paarl Royals' head coach called him up after the SA20 2023 Draft.
"It was so much emotions. I can’t really remember (laughs). But I remember getting a very good message from JP (Duminy). They welcomed me to the Royals family which meant a lot to me,"
Jones will next be in action for the Royals against Joburg Super Kings on Friday.
