Rohit Sharma joins Tendulkar, Kohli and MSD in a batting feat

In a remarkable turn of events, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has completed 4000 ODI runs on home soil. 

The stylish batter achieved this feat during the ongoing third ODI against New Zealand, joining Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni in this process. 


Most ODI runs for India at home

  • Sachin Tendulkar: 6976 runs in 160 innings
  • Virat Kohli: 5322 runs in 103 innings
  • MS Dhoni: 4351 runs in 113 innings
  • Rohit Sharma: 4014* runs in 76 innings
  • Yuvraj Singh: 3415 runs in 101 innings

Rohit has been sublime, as he looks all set for a daddy hundred at the moment. Opening the batting, the talismanic batter has provided India with an extraordinary start. 

He has taken all New Zealand bowlers to the cleaners and is currently batting on 91* off just 68 deliveries with the help of eight boundaries and five sixes. 

His partner Shubman Gill has also continued his glorious run in the 50-over format, amassing another flamboyant half century in this game. 

The heroic effort of these two batters has ensured a mammoth total for India. As of writing, the hosts are 178 for no loss in 21 overs.
