Jos Buttler to lead as ICC announces Men's T20 team of the year 2022

What went as one of the most fascinating years for T20 cricket, 2022 saw some outstanding performances from some of the best cricketers in the world. Their determination and will to succeed under tremendous pressure helped not just them but their side as well to achieve honours for their nation.

ICC's team features some of the best players from the circuit who were phenomenal during the entire year. Let's have a look at them:

What went as a fine year for England and skipper Jos Buttler who led them to glory, there shouldn't be any doubt that the wicket-keeper is leading ICC's team as well. While Pakistan enjoyed a magnificent start, they should thank their batting star Mohammed Rizwan who was consistent throughout the year.

India's Virat Kohli found his lost touch and how, a century against Afghanistan and 82* versus Pakistan in the World Cup game, his spot cannot be questioned. Suryakumar Yadav was marvellous for Men in Blue as he was the highest run-getter of the year with 1164 runs that contained two hundred and nine half-centuries.

716 runs at a strike rate of 156, Glenn Phillips took apart the bowlers with his explosive batting. All-rounder Sikandar Raza came to the limelight as he was outstanding with both bat and ball scoring 735 runs and grabbing 25 wickets. India's Hardik Pandya did everything in his power for his side amassing 607 runs along with 20 wickets.

Player of the tournament in ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Sam Curran had an year to remember as he was the highest wicket-taker in the T20 format for his side with 25 in 19 matches. Wanindu Hasaranga was one of the best in the wickets charts as he grabbed 34 of them in just 19 matches. 

Haris Rauf turned the fire up for Pakistan with his breathtaking deliveries as he struck 31 times in 23 games. Ireland's young wonder Josh Little was on second position in the wickets tally taking 39 wickets during the entire year.
