New Zealand dropped to second place in the latest ICC ODI team rankings following their 8-wicket loss at the hands of India on Saturday.

As a result, England have overtaken the Kiwis to take the top spot in the rankings. Meanwhile, India have jumped to third position, and can topple England at the top if they win the final ODI against the Kiwis on Tuesday.

Before the second game in Raipur, New Zealand were at 115 rating points, while England were in the second place at 113 points. Australia were third at 112 points and India were fourth at 111 points.

But after the drubbing at the hands of India, New Zealand dropped to second with 113 points, while the Rohit Sharma led Indian side climbed to the third place, overtaking Australia.

Talking about the second ODI, India made light work of the Kiwis, dismissing them for a paltry 108. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers, with 3 wickets to his name.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill made light work of the chase, with the Indian skipper notching up a quick-fire fifty to guide India to a 8-wicket win.

The number one ODI ranking is on the cards for India if they clean sweep the visitors in the final game.
