India thumped New Zealand by 8 wickets in the second ODI to seal the series with a game still left. Opting to bowl first, India used the seaming conditions to their advantage and knocked over the Kiwis for a paltry 108.

The target was a cakewalk for the home team and they chased it inside 20 overs.

After the game, skipper Rohit Sharma was pleased with the Indian performance and had high praise for his bowlers.

Rohit speaks

"Yes, I thought the last 5 games, the bowlers have stepped up and delivered. To see this kind of bowling in India has been amazing to see. These guys are working hard and the rewards are there for all to see. The ball was nipping around when we trained here yesterday.

We knew 250 would have been challenging and I wanted to chase today. Don't know what I will do in Indore. We are keeping an eye on the World Cup and the confidence level is high. They wanted to go along at 15/5, but there is a Test series coming in. They were in a great rhythm and that was great to see."

Talking about the match, it was the Mohammad Shami show that ran through the Kiwi batters. He had a disappointing first ODI, but came back strongly and picked up 3 crucial wickets.

The third and the final ODI of the series will be played in Indore on Tuesday.
