England white-ball captain Jos Buttler said Jofra Archer's return to the international scene is "exciting", but warned not to expect too much from him too soon.

Archer, who's playing his trade for the Mumbai Indians Cape Town in the ongoing SA20, is all set to resume his duties for England when the Jos Buttler-led side will take on South Africa in a three-match ODI series starting later this month.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Buttler said he was excited to bring Archer back in England's white-ball set-up after his performance in SA20.

"It is exciting to bring someone like Jofra back into the squad. When we see him, his performance level is so high but coming back from long-term injuries, don't expect too much from him too soon,"  said Jos Buttler on Archer's comeback.

England's premier fast bowler marked his return to cricket in style, taking three wickets in his first competitive game after being on the sidelines for 17 months.

Coming after a long injury layoff, Archer has shown no signs of discomfort thus far. He's looking as good as he ever was with the ball in hand.

His comeback would be a huge boost for Buttler's team, as they start their preparations for the title defense in the ODI World Cup scheduled to be played in India later this year.
