Cricket South Africa has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against England. Promising pacer Sisanda Magala has been rewarded for his consistency, after Dwaine Pretorius announced his international retirement last week.

The Temba Bavuma-led unit will be seeing familiar faces for the series against the defending champions at home.

Dewald Brevis, who is currently making waves in the SA20 2023, has been left out of the squad. Meanwhile, the domestic one-day cup leading-run-scorer Ryan Rickelton has also been left out.

Another notable absentee is Andile Phehlukwayo, who was the part of the Proteas ODI team during their last tour to India.

Temba Bavuma (captain), Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klaasen, Sisanda Magala, Keshav Maharaj, Janneman Malan, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Wayne Parnell, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Rassie van der Dussen.

South Africa are yet to qualify for the World Cup in India later this year, and this three-match rubber against England forms a crucial part of their final push.

The home team will assemble in Bloemfontein from 24-25 January, before both the teams clash at the venue in the first ODI on January 27. The caravan will stay at the Mangaung Oval for the next game, before they head to the Diamond Oval for the last fixture.
