In a significant turn of events, young Indian batter Shubman Gill has surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's tally of 186 runs to record the highest individual ODI score by an Indian against New Zealand.
The Punjab batter went bonkers against all the New Zealand bowlers to hammer a belligerent 149-ball 208, powering India to a mammoth total of 349 runs. He also broke Sachin's record for the highest individual ODI score at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Hyderabad.

- Shubman Gill - 208
- Sachin Tendulkar - 186*
- Virat Kohli - 154*

Gill, who has had a stellar success in ODI cricket since his debut, etched his name in history by becoming the youngest-ever batter to hammer a ODI double ton.
