In a big decision, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to postpone the inaugural edition of the Pakistan women's Super League - a concept proposed by former PCB chairman, Ramiz Raja.

The new league will have a different concept, and a new name than previously proposed, and will have four teams in the roster.

When the PCB regime changed, and Najam Sethi was appointed as the new chairman, it was decided that conducting the women's PSL won't be a feasible option in March, and with the BCCI organising the women's IPL in the same bracket (March), it would become difficult for PCB to attract big names.

Moreover, the idea of having exhibition gamed during the PSL have also been scrapped by the board.

As per ESPNCricinfo, even though PCB has denied lack of resources as the reason to postpone the event, they have stated that investing in the infrastructure to expand the pool of players across the country.

Earlier, Najam Sethi had also scrapped the Pakistan Junior League (PJL), another concept which was the brainchild of Ramiz Raja.
