Shadab Khan joins Sussex for T20 Blast 2023

Pakistan white-ball vice-captain, Shadab Khan has joined Sussex Sharks for the 2023 edition of the T20 Blast, following a stint with Yorkshire last season. 

Shadab, who recently played for Hobart Hurricanes before sustaining a hand injury, missed on the ODI series against New Zealand at home.



He has already played 225 domestic T20 matches, accumulating 2088 runs and scalping 258 wickets.

While talking about penning the Sussex deal, Shadab said: "I love playing in England. I know Mushtaq Ahmed is a legend at Sussex and it is an honour to follow in his footsteps. Sussex has a proud history and I hope that my skillset will help the team achieve great things in the blast this year."

In the Big Bash this season, the allrounder played five matches, before getting injured, and took 7 wickets at a strike rate of 16.29. On this tour of Australia, he made headlines by taking a couple of sensational caught and bowled.

The 24-year-old was spellbinding during the recently concluded T20 World Cup as well, where Pakistan finished as the runners-up. In 7 matches, he scalped 11 wickets at an economy of 6.35 and strike rate of 15.

The Pakistan international will next be seen wearing Islamabad United's jersey, when he will be leading the franchise in Pakistan Super League 2023.

Meanwhile, his stint with the Sharks will begin on May 26 and it will go on till the first week of July.
