In the recent development provided by the International Cricket Council (ICC), India have again fallen down to second position after climbing to number 1 in the latest Test rankings. As of now, the Rohit Sharma-led nation stands tall with 115 rating points behind Australia who have 126.

The third and fourth-placed teams England and New Zealand have 106 and 100 points, respectively.

India's total points are 3690 from 32 matches played in total whereas the Kangaroos have only 3,231 points, keeping them at bay with their counterparts.

Apart from Tests, the Men in Blue are ranked first in the T20 format as they continue the domination in the shortest format. Further, they are placed fourth in the ODI rankings while their upcoming rivals New Zealand are best positioned in that tally.

India's recently whitewashed Bangladesh at their home in the two-match series while the Aussies brought down the South African side by a margin of 2-0 in the three games they were involved in.

Before that series, Australia clean swept West Indies in another two-game series where they helped their cause in the World Test Championship table earning crucial points.

On the WTC standings, the side led by Pat Cummins are on the top of the list with 75.56% with India behind with 58.93%. However, they will be playing each other in a four-match series to be played in February-March.

Note: After some re-calculation by the ICC, India have fallen to the second position with Australia retaining first place. Australia now have 126 points whereas the Men in Blue are on 115 points as they were previously.
