Thiruvananthapuram saw a Virat Kohli classic as the modern-day giant scored his 74th international century against Sri Lanka on Sunday. He completed this century off his 85 deliveries.

This is his second three-figure score of the series and Kohli's second this year, with which he now has 46 tons after 249 innings in ODI cricket.

Currently, the Chasemaster is just three hundreds away from equaling Sachin Tendulkar's world record of most centuries in One Day Cricket.

Earlier in the day, Kohli also surpassed Mahela Jayawardene's ODI tally of 12,650 runs and has become the fifth-highest run-getter in ODI cricket.

This knock was another Kohli-Esque special, as he not only gashed the cricketing cherry around the park for 11 boundaries and four maximums but also rotated the strike with his quick running between the wickets.

He first batted sublimely with Shubman Gill for a 131-run stand for the second wicket, where the latter also registered an ODI ton. Gill scored a 97-run 116, his second in the format and first at home.

At the moment, the 34-year-old has put his foot on the accelerator and has already smashed three sixes and a boundary after getting to his hundred.

With him is Shreyas Iyer batting at 37* off 30, helping India push the total to 400 runs or above.

The Indian score is 332 for the loss of two wickets, with five more overs to go.
