Adam Zampa doubts Test future after being sidelined for India tour

Recently, Australia announced a formidable 18-man squad for their upcoming tour of India. As expected, the visitors have filled their squad with four spinners, Nathan Lyon, Ashton Agar, Mitchell Swepson and Todd Murphy. 

However, to the surprise of fans and experts, Australia decided to leave Adam Zampa, who was expected to spearhead the spin attack alongside Lyon on the tour. 

Zampa also seemed to be shattered, as he expressed his disappointment at his omission. The experienced leg spinner also revealed to be uncertain about his red-ball ambitions. 

Here's what Zampa stated

"I was close. I got told from George Bailey and Andrew McDonald that it was one of the toughest (decisions) they had to make for the tour. I’m very disappointed, I would have loved to be on it,

"I thought with the way I’ve been going in international cricket in particular this was going to be my opportunity. I don’t know what’s next for me. It’s two and half years until the next subcontinent tour."

Zampa has enjoyed stellar success in India, scalping 32 wickets in 22 white-ball appearances. However, he has modest numbers in First-Class cricket, claiming 108 wickets at an ordinary average of 47.90 in 39 outings.
