As per the latest happenings, 8 out of the 10 franchises from the Indian Premier Leagues have registered their bids to teams in the Women's IPL.

Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are the ones who have registered themselves for the bidding war.

Meanwhile, one of the latest entrants to the league - Lucknow Super Giants - and Royal Challenger Bangalore are the two IPL franchises who haven't registered to be a part of the Women's IPL.

As per an ESPN cricinfo report, the BCCI has selected 10 cities as venues in the tender, allowing a single franchise to bid for more than one city.

Meanwhile, the Indian board has asked all the interested parties to file themselves in for the render via filing the ‘Invitation to Tender’, which will be made available on receipt of payment of INR 5,00,000.

It is understood by OneCricket that the Glazers family, who own the Manchester United Football Club, are also interested in buying a team in the WIPL. Intestingly, they were keen of acquiring an IPL team as well, however; the didn't pan out well for them last year when BCCI brought in two new teams.

The Indian governing body has included a key clause in the selection of the winning bid, saying it would 'not be obliged to accept highest monetary offer'. It has stated it will look at the vision of the bidders towards enhancing the growth of women's cricket in India.
