Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman showered praises on New Zealand's star wicket-keeper batter Glenn Phillips for his match-winning knock, which helped the Black Caps clinch a series win over the hosts.

Phillips came to bat when the Kiwis were languishing at 181-5 and were looking in real trouble while chasing 281 runs. The 28-year-old smacked 63 runs off 42 balls and bailed his side out of trouble.

Phillips, whose knock was studded with four boundaries and as many sixes, remained unbeaten as New Zealand chased down the target of 281 runs in 48.1 overs and with two wickets in hand.

Glenn Phillips' knock overshadowed Fakhar Zaman's century in the same match. Shedding light on the same in the post-match conference, the Pakistan opener conceded that it wasn't an easy track to bat on and credited Glenn Phillips for his stellar show with the bat.

Here's what Zaman stated

"I think the way Phillips played, it seemed like he was batting on another surface. And the way this surface has played, we thought that 250 would be a good score but still, we scored 280 and I thought that our bowlers bowled extremely well. But I think all credit should be given to Phillips the way he single-handedly turned it around,

"I think the way our combination is, we are gelled together and today's game we did very well but after the innings of Phillips, that was extremely hard to pull off on a track like this but all credit goes to him."
