Canterbury's Henry Shipley gets his first senior call-up as New Zealand have announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming tour of India. The Black Caps will play three ODI matches and as many T20I games against India.

With no Tim Southee in the squad, Mitchell Santner gets an opportunity to lead the New Zealand team. Apart from Shipley, left-arm pacer, Ben Lister also gets his maiden call-up in the T20I squad.

As expected, the Kiwis will boast a strong batting lineup, comprising the likes of Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips and Dane Cleaver.

Phillips was one of the standout performers in the T20 World Cup 2022 and will look to continue his rich vein of form in the upcoming T20I series.

Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell form a formidable all-round duo and expect the visitors to accommodate both the players in the playing XI.

In terms of bowling, New Zealand will have the dependable duo of Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner. Sodhi in particular has done well in his recent Asian tour (of Pakistan) and has a good track record against the Indian team.

Michael Rippon, the all-rounder gets yet another opportunity to prove his worth after a decent start to his international career.

With no Boult and Southee in the side, the Kiwis will have an inexperienced pace attack this time. The Likes of Jacob Duffy and Lockie Ferguson will lead the attack, and the onus will be on the senior Ferguson to guide the youngster.

New Zealand tour of India starts from January 18.  The series starts with the ODI leg, followed by the T20I matches, starting on January 27.
