On Wednesday, Prithvi Shaw created history, slamming the second-highest individual score in Ranji Trophy history during Mumbai's ongoing fixture against Assam in the domestic competition.

Shaw hammered 379 runs, going past Sanjay Manjrekar's tally of 377, to achieve the milestone.

After Shaw's marathon knock, Manjrekar took to his Twitter handle to laud the Indian youngster.

Here's what Manjrekar tweeted

"Thrilled that my record of 377 was beaten by a batter I adore! Well done Prithvi!"

The dashing Mumbai opener hit 49 fours and four towering sixes in his knock of 379, which was his first triple hundred in FC cricket.

Shaw also became the third Indian player after Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma to score 300 in FC, 200 in List-A, and 100 in T20.

Despite scoring a bucketload of runs in domestic cricket, Shaw struggles to find a place in the Indian side, which already has a plethora of talent sitting on the bench.

The Delhi Capitals player has featured in 5 Tests, 6 ODIs, and 1 T20I for the Men in Blue.
