The ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has already seen its fair share of player-umpire arguments.

Three Bangladeshi players — Shakib Al Hasan, Nurul Hasan, and Anamul Haque — were deducted 15 per cent of their match fees for their on-field behaviour in their respective matches.

All three players were involved in last evening's match between Fortune Barishal and Rangpur Riders. Shakib and Nurul were fined for disobeying the umpires under Article 2.04 of the BCB code of conduct. At the same time, Anamul was penalised for showing dissent to the umpire after being declared out.

The three forementioned-players were involved in an argument ahead of start of the second innings.

Shakib, Barishal's skipper, charged onto the field to argue with the umpires after a short confrontation between Chaturanga de Silva and Nurul.

The trio admitted to the charges levelled against them and accepted the sanction by the match referee, Akhtar Ahmad. Apart from the fine, each player was given one demerit point.

Earlier, Shakib was involved in an unpleasant incident in the opening match of the BPL 2023, where he shouted at the leg-umpire for not giving wide.
