On Saturday, Suryakumar Yadav smashed a scintillating ton, powering India to a clinical 91-run victory over Sri Lanka in the T20I series decider in Rajkot. In this process, he became only the seventh Indian batter to complete 1500 runs in T20 internationals

Furthermore, Suryakumar became the quickest, in terms of balls faced, to 1500 runs in T20Is. The Mumbai batter took only 843 balls to achieve this unique feat.

The 32-year-old hammered 11 sixes during his stay, setting the record for the most sixes by an Indian non-opening batter in a T20I innings

This was Surya's third T20I century. His first two tons came in England and New Zealand. Therefore, he became the first-ever batter to score T20I centuries in three different continents.

Suryakumar's belligerent knock was pivotal in powering India to a mammoth 228-run total in their first innings. Then, riding on bowlers' brilliance, the hosts defended the score successfully, sealing the series by 2-1.

The three-match ODI series between the two teams commences on January 10. While the first game is scheduled in Guwahati, the second and third fixture will be played in Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram, respectively.
