Cheteshwar Pujara is all set to return to Ranji Trophy for Saurashtra in their next match against Hyderabad, scheduled to start from 10th January at the Gymkhana ground in Hyderabad.

This will be Pujara’s first Ranji Trophy match this season as the Indian international was away last month with the Indian Test side for a two match series in Bangladesh. He missed the first four rounds for Saurashtra, including their first ever win over Mumbai and the innings victory against Delhi.

This will be Pujara’s third first-class match in his career against Hyderabad, against whom he does not have any memorable outing and is averaging a paltry 9.25 in four innings. The 34-year-old will be hoping to continue his good form and bring his best in this match, especially after scoring a brilliant hundred in the First Test against Bangladesh in Chattogram last month.

Jaydev Unadkat and his men have been brilliant throughout the season so far. They did not have the best of starts as they could only manage to draw against Assam and Maharashtra in their first two rounds, but are rightly up and running for a potential quarter final spot with two back to back wins against Mumbai and Delhi.

Now, with the addition of Pujara, things are only going to get better for them. They are currently placed at the top of Group B with 19 points in four matches.
