It was an extremely close save for the Men in Blue who despite losing quick wickets while batting made a strong comeback to defend a relatively small total on dewy Wankhede ground against the determined Sri Lankan side in the 1st T20I.

However, despite winning the game India's stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya gave fans a massive scare as he suffered a cramp while grabbing the catch of Bhanuka Rajapaksa in the 11th over of the second innings. He then immediately called the support staff on the field to provide him with assistance, meanwhile, the all-rounder wasn't looking too serious about the issue.

After the game, the Baroda-born revealed that there is nothing much to worry about as there was stiffness in his body due to lack of water and sleep.

"Now I have tendency to scare people but if I am smiling then everything is fine. I did not sleep well, did not drink enough water and hence the glutes were stiff."

Pandya's statement came as a relief for the fans as he had been injury-prone in the past and another one would have put his future in jeopardy, considering he will be crucial for India during the World Cup scheduled in October-November.
