Shubman Gill and Shivam Mavi debut for India in 1st T20I against Sri Lanka

India's two inspiring youngsters, opener Shubman Gill and pacer Shivam Mavi have been drafted into the playing XI for the 1st T20I against Sri Lanka, hence, making their debut for India in T20 cricket. The players were present their caps by Suryakumar Yadav and skipper Hardik Pandya, respectively.

With this, Mavi became the 100th while Gill becomes the 101st player to don the blue jersey for India in the shortest format. Also, the Men in Blue are only the second side to present 100 caps in T20 cricket, who are behind Australia.

Punjab-born Gill has represented India before in ODIs and Tests whereas Mavi will be playing for the very first time in the International arena.

Sri Lanka won and toss and opted to bat first against India at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

India's Playing XI: Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Surya Kumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya (c), Sanju Samson (wk), Deepak Hooda, Akshar Patel, Shivam Mavi, Harshal Patel, Umran Malik, Yuzvendra Chahal
