Mumbai Indians broke the bank for Australia's all-rounder Cameron Green, purchasing him for a whopping INR 17.5 crores. However, a finger injury and Cricket Australia's (CA) workload management policy for pacers have restricted Green from bowling till April 13.

BCCI CEO and IPL COO Hemang Amin has told franchises that Green will be available for the entirety of IPL 2023, but he will bowl four weeks after completion of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy if he features in all four Tests against India, scheduled between February 9 to March 22.

Here's what Amin said

"Cricket Australia has informed this morning that Cameron Green (player No. 8) will be fully available. However, if he features in all the four Test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Green will not be able to bowl for four weeks from the conclusion of the fourth Test scheduled from 9th March to 13th March, 2023."

This means MI will only be able to play Green as a batter during the initial part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

Meanwhile, Australia head coach Andrew McDonald is hopeful of Green regaining full fitness and playing the Nagpur Test starting February 9.

The 23-year-old is undergoing treatment for a fractured finger, an injury he suffered during the Boxing Day Test against South Africa.
