Pakistan lead pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has been having a tough few months since suffering a knee injury. The injury forced him to miss the Asia Cup 2022. Later in the final of the T20 World Cup against England, the injury resurfaced, forcing him to leave the field. He could only bowl 2.1 overs out of his four overs.

The ace pacer was seen stretching under the vigilance of the Pakistan Cricket Board [PCB] medical staff in Karachi. As the pacer was sent for scans, it was revealed that he had only suffered from a knee flexion and could resume practice after a 2 week rehab. He also underwent an appendectomy.

Pakistan Cricket announces Afridi's return

“Shaheen Afridi resumes his rehabilitation under the national men’s team’s medical staff in Karachi today.”

Ahead of the white ball series against New Zealand, Shaheen's return will be an enormous boost for the Men in Green. The bowler is also all set to make a return at the ODI World Cup.
