Mark Taylor urges Australia to play five bowlers in third Test

Former Australian skipper, Mark Taylor wants Australia to go with five bowlers for the third Test against South Africa in Sydney.

The series has already been sealed by the hosts in Melbourne but they were hampered by injuries to Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green, and the duo will miss the final Test match.

With the series in Australia's pocket, this gives room for the home side to experiment with their side. Taylor wants Alex Carey to bat at number 6 and the hosts should go with five bowlers.

"They've got an opportunity in Sydney to try out few things. I know people say you shouldn't try things in Test matches, but with Cameron Green not playing, I'd like to see Alex Carey nat at number six and Australia go with five bowlers," Taylor said as quoted by News 18.

Taylor also suggested that Australia have enough firepower in their bowling arsenal to pick up 20 wickets as the South African batting has looked vulnerable.

"I think with the bowling they've got there, with whoever those quicks are going to be, you've got enough guys to pick up 20 wickets. South Africa only made 200 in the final innings at MCG for the first time in four matches, their batting is very gettable at the moment," Taylor added.

Australia will take on South Africa in the Sydney Test match on Wednesday.
