England's star batter, Jonny Bairstow took to social media on Sunday and expressed that he cannot wait to make a comeback and do what he does best and make some amazing memories.

Bairstow sustained a limb injury in October and announced that he will not be taking part in any form of cricket for the rest of the year and will return in 2023.

Bairstow excited for the future

"2022, we've had many highs and lows I never want to experience again... 2023 I cannot wait to make some amazing memories and get back on the field doing what I do best! thanks for all the support, Bairstow tweeted.

Prior to his injury, the 33-year-old was enjoying the form of his life. He was arguably England's best Test batter last year, amassing 1,061 runs in 10 matches, at an average of 66.31 with six hundreds to his name.

He was the fourth highest run-getter in Tests last year, only behind Usman Khawaja (1,080), Joe Root (1,098), and Pakistan captain Babar Azam (1,184).

Alongside with Ben Stokes, Kagiso Rabada and Usman Khawaja, he was nominated for ICC Test Cricketer of the Year Award.
