SIX vs REN: All-round bowling effort propel Sydney Sixers to victory

A clinical bowling effort from Sydney Sixers restricted Melbourne Renegades to a mere 124, and it was chased rather easily by 6 wickets. The victory propels Sixers to the second position in the points table.
All-round effort restricts Renegades
Renegades won the toss and elected to bat first and they instantly regretted the decision. The wicket had enough spice to lure the bowlers and the Sixers used it to their advantage.
Jackson Bird bowled at tight lines and lengths and forced Maddinson to play a rash shot. He went through his attempted pull shot and found the fielder at deep square leg. One brought the fall of another wicket as overseas batter Martin Guptill went back after scoring just 12.
Shaun Marsh and Aaron Finch started the rebuild process and resurrected the innings. They added 24 for the third wicket before Naveed got the all-important wicket of Marsh.
Finch was clearly not at his usual best as the former Australian skipper struggled for runs and hardly timed anything from the middle of the bat. His scratchy innings came to an end when he slogged the length ball and found the fielder at mid wicket.
With Finch's departure, Sixers got hold of the game and hardly gave away freebies. They picked up 3 more wickets and eventually restricted the Renegades to a below-par 124.
A rather easy chase for Sixers
Just like the Renegades, Sixers had an early jolt when Josh Philippe was sent back to the pavilion for just 4.
Kurtis Patterson (38), and James Vince (39) steadied the ship and marched towards the total. However, two quick wickets of Vince and Moises Henriques (2) brought a ray of hope for the Renegades.
And with Patterson back in the pavilion, Renegades saw a big opening, but all that was dashed away as Jordan Silk (15*) and Dan Christian (21*) steered the Sixers past the winning line with 6 wickets in hand.
