Australian opener, David Warner admitted that he had some doubts in his own ability after a string of poor performances at the Test level. However, he stated that the hunger to play Test cricket is still there and he is looking forward to playing against India and England.

There was a lot of talk going around regarding Warner's future with Australian cricket. But he silenced all his critics with a well crafted double century against a quality South African pace attack at MCG. Interestingly, this was Warner's first Test ton in nearly three years.

Prior to his double century, the 36-year-old had not breached the 50-run mark in his previous 10 Test innings, and revealed that he had some doubts creeping in heading into the Boxing Day Test.

"Was there doubts? Yeah, of course, there was doubts in my mind. But for me, it was all about going out there and knowing that I've still got that hunger and determination because every time I rock up the training I've got it," Warner said after Australia's victory on Day 4.

The southpaw also talked about the upcoming India tour and the challenges he'll face on the subcontinent tracks.

"We know we're going to prepare for, they are going to be turning wickets. Nagpur and Delhi are quite dry and Dharamsala at that time of the year, we played there (2017) and we should have won the Test match. There's going to be time when it'll become challenging for our batters. But it's all about how we build and bat big like we did in Pakistan."

The Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia commences from February 9.
