The Indian Premier League's new million-dollar man, Australia's Cameron Green, is hopeful of regaining fitness and touring India for the coveted Border-Gavaskar Trophy next year.

Green fractured his finger while batting in the Boxing Day Test, after getting hit by a sharp bouncer by South Africa's Anrich Nortje.

Despite being ruled out of the third and final Test, the all-rounder batted with an injury on Day 3 of the second Test and scored a well-deserved fifty.

Speaking with cricket.co.au, the youngster spoke about being mentally and physically fit as soon as possible for a tough India tour.

Here's what Green said

"It obviously hurts not playing for Australia. I’ve played every game since I debuted, so it’s going to feel a bit weird watching Test cricket from home. It’s a great (Australian dressing room) environment to be a part of so I’m definitely going to miss it (in Sydney Test),

"I’m going to do as much as I can to get it right and try to go to India. A lot of people talk about the tour to India, how tough it is mentally and physically. It’s going to be a massive tour for us. We’re as best prepared as we’re ever going to be, so (I’m) looking forward to it."

Earlier, Green became the first Australian player in four years to hit a fifty and claim a fifer in the same Test. The 23-year-old was bought by the Mumbai Indians for a whopping INR 17.5 Crores in the recently held IPL mini-auction.
