On a day where heat got better of everyone, David Warner slammed an outstanding 200 after which he retired-hurt as the conditions got better of him. His marvellous return to form during which he brought up his 25th Test century was commended by many including Proteas pacer Anrich Nortje who bowled 16 overs to grab figures of 1/50.

Nortje, being outstanding himself while claiming wicket of Steve Smith for 85, praised Warner for batting wonderfully well showing 'energy and fight'.

He was quite impressed by his effort, as he mentioned that they were resilient in their effort to bring up an 197-run lead.

Further, the right-armer spoke about how he was trying to bowl fast during the game as they were hoping to be aggressive which he admitted that didn't worked out.

“From our side, I was trying to get a breakthrough somewhere in the innings. My role is to be more aggressive, try to speed it up.

"That was the plan. It didn’t really work out, but I thought the boys bowled really well and everyone nailed their roles. You are in the heat, you try different things with the ball, but they batted well.

“Hats off to him [Warner] for the energy and fight he showed, and hopefully we can get him in the second innings.”

The day three will resume with Australia on 386 for the loss of three wickets with Travis Head and Alex Carey still on the crease.
