The name of the tournament being 'Indian' Premier League, it is expected that the most number of players sold will be Indians. In total 51 Indian players were sold.

Of the overseas players, the most in demand were from the land of current World T20 Champions, England. They were also the most expensive players in the auction. Each English player cost a whopping INR 7.26 Cr to the franchises on an average.

The Zimbabweans and Afghans were the least in demand. Only one from these two nations were sold and at the cost of 50 Lakhs.

Besides we also saw Cameraon Green ( INR 17.50 Cr) and Ben Stokes (INR 16.25 Cr)  breaking the banks. Interestingly all three players were in the set of capped all-rounders.

This set saw the most moeny being spent by the franchises. A total of INR 59 Crores was spent on seven players in this set. The only player who remained unsold in this sent was Shakib Al Hasan ( KKR bought him later in the accelerated round).

So, the summary stands that the avreage cost of each player in the  capped all-rounder set was INR 8.42 Cr. This makes this he higehst priced set in the auction.

Speaking about the trio of Green, Curran and Stokes. They garenered a total of INR 52.25 Cr in the auction. This is nearly 31 percent of the total money spent in the auction.

It will be interesting to see, how these three players justifiy their high price tag. The hype that has been built around them will surely create a pressure on these three players to bring out the best in them. For a normal cricket fan, it will be exciting to see most valuable players in IPL history displaying their A-game to justify their price tag with their performance.
