In a remarkable turn of events, Chennai Super Kings bagged the services of veteran England all-rounder Ben Stokes for a whopping 16.25 Crores for the Indian Premier League 2023.

However, since Stokes joined the yellow army, the talks regarding MS Dhoni's captaincy successor have taken centre stage.

Many people believe Dhoni, who is in the twilight of his career, might finally bid adieu to the IPL, passing the leadership baton to Stokes in the middle of the upcoming season.

Former New Zealand player Scott Styris also thinks the same, as he calls it an opportunity for Dhoni to choose his ablest successor for the four-time champions.

Here's what Styris stated

"I think so, I think he (Stokes) will be captain. We have seen MS Dhoni try and pass the captaincy on, he has not been playing cricket regularly in between the IPL. It’s just an opportunity for MS Dhoni to pass the baton. I think yes, they will do it straight away. Ben Stokes will be captain."

Styris is logically correct, as Stokes has impressed everyone with his incredible leadership attributes since taking the reins from Joe Root in the longest format. More importantly, his addition will ensure balance in the Super Kings on all fronts.
