In what comes as an absolute shocker, Sydney Thunder have terminated the contract of Afghanistan seamer Fazalhaq Farooqi following a hearing held by Cricket Australia's conduct commissioner.

The club received a formal complaint about Farooqi's behaviour following an incident last Thursday and referred the matter to Cricket Australia’s Integrity Unit for investigation.

The Unit has found Farooqi guilty, as a result of which his contract has immediately been terminated by the BBL franchise.

However, the details of the matter, being confidential, haven't been disclosed.

In his statement, Cricket NSW CEO Lee Germon termed Farooqi's behaviour as something outside their values and seemed determined to provide the required support to the affected people.

Here's what he said

"The behaviours displayed by Fazalhaq Farooqi sit outside our values and it was determined that his contract be terminated. Our focus now is providing the necessary support to those affected by this incident."

Meanwhile, Farooqi has had a decent BBL 12 campaign, scalping five wickets at an average of 18.60. The Thunder will announce his replacement soon.
